Pryanik is a top down v-neck pullover with crisp details and elbow patches worked in twisted stitch, much like its sister cardigan pattern, Tweedy Fog.
As I was knitting this color, I kept thinking of pryanik - traditional Russian honey bread. Sometimes translated as gingerbread, pryanik generally does not include ginger. Tasty variations include traditional Tula Pryanik made with jam inside - a childhood treat that holds a special place in my heart. Pryanik can store for many months without losing its freshness, it’s a proprietary Russian recipe that is still used today.
The pullover is worked top down seamlessly, with minimal finishing. Custom placement for elbow patches is also included.
YARN
DK Weight yarn that knits to 20 sts per 4” works best. I think tweed really shows off the simplicity of the design, but you can use any DK weight yarn of your choice!
My sample uses The Farmer’s Daughter’s Fibers Craggy Tweed in color Monarch
