Pyramid doorstop
Crochet pyramid door stop pattern for DIY fun – includes UK and US Crochet Terms.
Beginner-friendly home décor project, made of four colour triangles – a quick & easy gift for lots of occasions!
Digital pdf download is easily printable and a brilliant stash buster project – use any DK yarn!
KEY FEATURES:
• Super-simple doorstop is a low-cost way to brighten up any room – customise the colours to suit your style and interior design.
• Quick and easy way to make a personalised gift for a housewarming, birthday, anniversary, teacher, special couple, or Mother’s Day.
• Beginner-friendly pattern just uses chains and UK double/US single crochet increases and decreases. The pieces are stitched together with whipstitch or backstitch – step-by-step tutorial includes photos to show you what to do.
• Great yarn stashbuster! Just use any colourful DK yarn (like grey, approx 95m) to make the triangles, then use a contrast colour to make the base and join the triangles (like pink, approx 25m).
• A4 digital pdf download pattern is available instantly, forever, and is easily printable.
• Pattern is given in UK crochet terms first and then US crochet terms, so you only need to read the section that’s relevant to you.
• Small to medium size is perfect for a doorstop or a book end – the pyramid measures approx 12cm (4¾in) wide and 12cm (4¾in) high (without handle).
• Pyramid decoration can be filled with weights to wedge a door open.
MORE INFORMATION:
• For this project, I used Drops Cotton Viscose (54% cotton, 46% viscose), 1 ball each of Yarn A Light Grey (18) (55m used), Yarn B Dark Grey (19) (40m used) and Yarn C Bright Pink (08) (25m used).
• You’ll also need a 3.5mm (US E/4) hook, toy stuffing, a pair of old tights or socks, weighting material (such as plastic pellets or rice), and a small piece of cardboard 12cm (4¾in) square.
DESIGNER INSPIRATION:
Becky Skuse says: “My pyramid doorstop design is stylish yet simple, with plenty of scope for giving it your own creative twist. It’s made of a simple base square and four triangles, but instead of hiding the seams, I’ve made a stylish feature of them! I chose light and dark shades of the same colour for the sides, plus a bright colour for the base and seams, but you can use any colour combination you like. It’s the perfect gift for a new home, a new baby or to brighten up any room.”
