When I saw this lace pattern I fell in love with it and knew that it had to be part of a shawl “fit for a Queen”.

It is knit sideways starting with a small number of stitches. You will increase from the cast on to the center section of the shawl. Then, you will work even without increases or decreases for a while and finally, work decreases back to the beginning number of stitches. The lace edging forms to the left on the knit side of the shawl, the stockinette body of the shawl will be on the right.

The lace edging is fully written and also charted so you can choose either option.

Finished Size: Sample - wingspan, 70” (178cm); center back length, 21.5” (15cm). The size is easy to adjust to accommodate your taste and available yarn.

Yarn: Fingering Weight. Sample used 645 yds (590 m). Other weights of yarn could also be used with adjusted needle size and varying the number of repeats to give the size you want. Check out the project pages for ideas.
Note: A change in weight of yarn or number of repeats worked will change the amount of yarn needed.
