Inspiration
What little girl hasn’t drawn a rainbow in her first drawings? My daughter Zoe has been doing it for a while now, so that has undoubtedly been the inspiration for this dress. In addition, the rainbow gives us the possibility to play with colors and adapt it to the tastes of the little ones.

What do you need to know?
To knit in the round, to knit and purl, make increases. Short row technique is used for the semicircle of the rainbow. Support video is provided.

Sizes: 2 (4, 6, 8 ,10, 12) years

Materials
Yarn: Drops Merino Extra fine – 50gr; 105m (115yds). Merino Superwash Wool (100%).
Amount main color: 4 (5, 6, 8, 9, 10) 50 gr skeins.
Total in meters: 420 (525, 630, 840, 945, 1.050) m.
Total in yards: 460 (575, 690, 920, 1.035, 1.150) yds.
Amount for each rainbow color: aprox. 5-8 gr each color. Four colors in total.
Other yarn suggestions.
Circular needles 4 mm (US 6).
Markers for delimiting the parts.
Waste yarn or stitch holders.
2 small buttons around 12.5 mm/ 0.5 in.
Tapestry needle for finishing off.
Elastic band or elastic thread for sewing at the waist.

Gauge
You should have 20 sts and 27 rounds in 10 x 10 cm (4 in x 4 in) swatch. Work the swatch in the round with Stockinette st and block it.

Construction notes Rainbow Dress
We will start with the rainbow, work top down to the waist and then the skirt. The dress instructions have the following sections:

1. Work center semicircle of the rainbow. It is knitted using German short row technique. Support video is included.
2. Work colored rings of rainbow.
3. Working in the round create the waist in Garter st.
4. You can work the skirt with or without pockets. Without pockets it is easier. 4.a Skirt with pockets 4.b Skirt without pockets.
5. Make the straps and the finishing touches. We will include an elastic band to hold the waistband in place.

¿Qué niña no ha dibujado un arcoíris en sus primeros paisajes? Mi hija Zoe lleva una temporada venga a hacerlo, así que eso ha sido sin duda la inspiración de este vestido para incorporar el arcoíris al diseño. Además el arcoíris nos da la posibilidad de jugar con los colores y adaptarlo a los gustos de las más peques.

Tejido de Muestra
En una muestra tejida en circular de 10 x 10 cm obtendrás 20p por 27 pas con una aguja de 4 mm. Teje la muestra en punto jersey, en circular y bloquéala.

Notas de construcción vestido arcoíris
Empezaremos por el arcoíris, seguiremos de arriba abajo por la cintura y luego la falda. El vestido consta de la siguientes secciones:

1. El arcoíris se empieza por el semicírculo central. Se teje el semicírculo con la técnica de vueltas cortas alemanas. Se incluye vídeo de apoyo.
2. A continuación se trabajan los aros de colores.
3. En circular trabajamos y creamos la cintura en P bobo.
4. Para la falda del vestido hay opción de hacerla con bolsillos o sin bolsillos. Puedes elegir la que prefieras tú. Sin bolsillos es más sencillo. 4.a Falda vestido con bolsillos. 4.b Falda vestido sin bolsillos.
5. Realizaremos los tirantes y los acabados. Incluiremos una goma para que la cintura sujete bien.
