The Rodiles are ankle socks, perfect for spring and summer. Because of their size and the fact that they use three different colours, they’re perfect for using up leftovers of sock yarn. This pattern is written with beginners in mind, so you don’t need any experience in sock knitting to follow it.

They are knit from the toe up and have a German short row heel (one of the simplest ways to knit heels). I have included in the pattern links to videos that will help you with the techniques you need to make the toe and heel.

YARN
Fingering (400m per 100g) or light fingering (425m per 100g) weight yarn suitable for socks (i.e., with a 20-25% nylon content which makes them more resistant).
• Main colour (MC): approx. 95-155 m (103-170 yards). I used Indoluna Yarn Salsa , Jano colourway.
• Contrasting colour 1 (CC1): approx. approx. 35-70 m (38-77 yards). I used Cascade Yarns Heritage Solids , Turquoise colourway (blue).
• Contrasting colour 2 (CC2): approx. approx. 15-25 m (16-28 yards). I used CoopKnits Socks Yeah!, Helium colourway (yellow).

The amount of yarn you’ll need will depend on your sock (S/M/L – see sizes below) and shoe size. Here are the amounts for a few different sizes to give you an idea of what you may need for yours:
- Size S and shoe size EU35 / UK2 / US5 –
MC: 95 m / 104 yds, CC1: 35 m / 38 yds, CC2: 15 m / 16 yds
- Size M and shoe size EU38 / UK5 / US8 –
MC: 130 m / 142 yds, CC1: 44 m / 48 yds, CC2: 17 m / 19 yds
- Size L and shoe size EU42 / UK9 / US12 –
MC: 155 m / 170 yds, CC1: 70 m / 77 yds, CC2: 25 m / 28 yds

SIZES
In the pattern I give three sizes based on your foot circumference around the widest part of the foot (more or less where your foot bends when you tip-toe).

Size S (small): 20-21 cm / 8”
Size M (medium): 22-24 cm / 9”
Size L (large): 25-26 cm / 10”

Este es un patrón de calcetines escrito especialmente para los que nunca hayan tejido calcetines. Es un patrón sencillo y fácil de seguir, con un tejido elástico que se adapta a tu pie aunque no tengas la tensión aún controlada.

Los calcetines 80s Retro se tejen de la puntera hacia arriba y tienen un talón de vueltas cortas alemanas (uno de los talones más sencillos que puedas hacer). El patrón tiene enlaces a videos que explican cómo hacer la puntera y el talón.

LANA
Lana de grosor fingering (400m por 100g) o light fingering (425m por 100g) apropiada para calcetines (es decir, con un 20-25% de nylon que es lo ideal para que sean resistentes).
• Color principal (CP): aproximadamente 95-155 m. Yo usé Indoluna Yarn Salsa en color Jano.
• Color de contraste 1 (CC1): 35-70 m. Yo usé Cascade Yarns Heritage Solids en color Turquoise (azul).
• Color de contraste 2 (CC2): 15-25 m. Yo usé CoopKnits Socks Yeah! en color Helium (amarillo).

La cantidad de metros que necesitas depende de la talla (P/M/G – véase más abajo) y número de calzado que uses. Estas son unas cantidades orientativas para distintas tallas:

En el patrón doy tres tallas basadas en la circunferencia del pie por la parte más ancha de este (más o menos por donde se dobla el pie cuando te pones de puntillas).

Talla P (pequeña): 20-21cm
Talla M (mediana): 22-24 cm
Talla G (grande): 25-26 cm
