Rose is a cute doll who loves flowers and to sing. She also loves to play traditional Korean games which she is the master of! Don’t let her innocent stance fool you.

Rose is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My Rose is approx. 18cm tall (7 inches).

You will need:

• 2.2mm hook/C-2 (US)
• 4ply yarn/fingering > less than 50g yarn in NUDE, BROWN, WHITE, BLACK, ORANGE and YELLOW
• BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
• A pair of 7mm safety eyes
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker

Notes:

• A yarn with no stretch is best for amigurumi, I ordinarily use cotton or cotton blend.
• Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round (unless it says otherwise).
• For this pattern, the following yarns were used: o NUDE = Hobbii Cotton Kings 8/4 in col. 38 (Nude) o BROWN = Hobbii Cotton Kings 8/4 in col. 34 (Chestnut) o WHITE = Hobbii Cotton Kings 8/4 in col. 01 (White) o BLACK = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 009 (Black) o ORANGE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in col. 49 (Peach) o YELLOW = Hobbii Baby Cotton Organic in col. 26 (Lemon)
• Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
• Your tension, the yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of the finished item.
• I have used safety eyes for this pattern but you may embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
