Rosetta Stone
Wander through leaves and traverse over lacy brooks to discover the hidden mosaic in The Rosetta Stone. The Rosetta Stone is an ancient tablet that was found in the late 18th century by French soldiers who were rebuilding a fort in Egypt. The text on the stone was written in two languages and three scripts by priests to honor their pharaoh. Luckily you don’t have to be able to read ancient Greek or demotic in order to knit the lovely lace leaves and mosaic roses on this shawl.
This triangle starts with the classic tab cast on at the top center of the shawl, and grows on every right-side row. There are lace leaves, beads, garter stitch, eyelets, and yes, the easy color work technique called mosaic knitting for lots of added visual texture, and not a lick of boredom.
