This wonderful little Rustic Christmas Tree Ornament pattern is very beginner-friendly. There is a video tutorial available for it.

The pattern uses scrap amounts of yarn and is worked up in two pieces with no sewing except to attach the button. You can easily work this ornament up in about an hour (or less?).

Materials
Scrap amounts of worsted-weight yarn in two colors.
#7/4.5mm hook
7/16” button (a little less than a 1/2”)
Polyester Fiberfill - about a handful’s worth
Large eye needle for tucking ends
Sewing thread and needle for attaching the button.
