Looking for just a little extra layer to be comfortable during chilly days? Ryanne is a lacy cotton shawlette perfect when all you want is a light wrap, uses only 1 skein of fingering weight yarn, and works up quickly.

And now Ryanne has a big sister! Kaylee uses the same stitch patterns, has the same shape, but is approximately 40% larger!

This asymmetric design begins with a 5 stitch cast on and grows by 1 stitch on every right side row. The shape is achieved by increasing 2 sts at the beginning of the row but decreasing one of those stitches away right before the Arrowhead Lace and Cable edge design. This creates a natural curve which allows the shawl to sit comfortably around your shoulders and stay put without a lot of fuss.

Stitch patterns alternate between an eyelet pattern, a diamond pattern, and a zig zag lace pattern. The final border is created by working double yarn overs to create moderately large holes and then working multiple stitches in those yarn overs.

Instructions for lace patterns used are both written and charted.

The sample used 93 g/450 yd/411 m of fingering weight cotton yarn.
