Sakaki
Sakaki has been retired from donations after providing $5,000 to relief efforts. Thank you knitters!
Initially designed to help Japan after their devastating earthquake and tsunami, $5 for each Sakaki PDF pattern sold through the end of May, 2011 was donated to Direct Relief International and earmarked for Japan (from pattern sales through May 31, 2011): $2,705. Thank you knitters!
Beginning in June, 2011, $5 per pattern sold was donated to Doctors without Borders, which does not allow earmarking, but does wonderful work throughout the world! The total below is up to date as of 04/2020, and includes an extra $700 donated by me.
12-10-2012: $3,205 total donated
11-11-2013: $3,455 total donated
12-27-2013: $4,000 total donated
04-01-2018: $4,200 total donated
05-13-2019: $5,000 total donated (note that this amount was donated in advance and sales did not catch up as of 12/31/2021)
