Designed to show off the craziest of variegated skeins this sock makes use of a stitch I developed by combining slipped stitches with a lifted bar and named the Sandpiper Stitch.

Beginning with a toe up cast on you work the pattern stitch on the instep and the sole in stockinette until you reach the point where you place yarn for an afterthought heel. You then extend the pattern stitch around the leg and work up to ribbing. If you have never worked an afterthought heel I made a video to help you through the process.

The heel, toe, and cuff are worked in the solid color.

You will use about half of each skein for a pair of socks so you can extend the leg if you like!

The sample is worked in the following beautiful colors from The Fiber Seed.

Variegated: Mahi
Solid: Aqua
