Seaside V-Neck
The Seaside V-Neck is inspired by many things: One, the beautiful hand-dyed colorway “Seaside” made by Nina of Speckled Finch Studios; Two, the area where the crashing sea meets the rocky Northern California coastline, which so happens to be where both designer and dyer live as neighbors.
The Seaside V-neck is knit from the top-down, beginning with the MC yarn and a provisional cast on for the shoulders and back of the neck. The back is worked first, then the provisional cast on is carefully undone and each front side is knit separately with matching short row and neckline shaping. When complete, the fronts and back are joined together under the armholes and the body is knit in the round toward the hem. Stitches are picked up and knit in the round for the 3/4 sleeves and neckline. All of the ribbed edges are made using smaller needles and the CC yarn.
