Shadowdancer is a shawl of drama and lots of lacy fabulousness! Worked from the top down, this half circle shawl is as much fun to wear as it is to knit.

REQUIREMENTS
Yarn and Finished Size: Designed to be knit using one skein of Miss Babs Yearning (1097m/195g which works out to 565m/100g and is 65% Merino/35% Silk). The finished shawl measures 84” (210cm) wide and 35” (89cm) deep after blocking. These figures are a guide only and the overall size will depend on your exact tension and blocking. Shadowdancer can be achieved from one skein of Miss Babs Yearning or two skeins of Miss Babs Dulcinea, Lichtfaden Meridian, Natural Born Dyers Lustrous Myrka, Posh Yarns Heavy Lace (several different bases), Green Tea Yarns Ginseng or DyeforYarn Mulberry Silk. Should you decide to work your shawl in an 800m/100g yarn you will require two skeins.
Needles: 3.25mm (US3), 3.5mm (US4), 3.75mm (US5) and 4mm (US6) needles though it is better to use a needle that produces a fabric you are happy with and needle size will depend on the yarn used. You will want good drape and should therefore use a larger needle than if you were knitting a garment. A change in needle size may affect your yardage requirements.
You will also need: Stitch Markers (about 130), Needle, Blocking Pins, 1mm cro-tat hook (or 0.75 crochet hook for applying beads) and just under 1400 Miyuki size 6 seed beads.
Gauge: 24sts to 4inches on stocking stitch using size 3.5mm (US4) needles before blocking. Gauge is not critical and any yarn is suitable for this pattern though needle size and yardage requirements will vary as will the eventual size of the shawl.

IMPORTANT: It is possible to work this pattern in almost any heavy lace weight yarn of 600m/100g (avoid the alpaca-based yarns so your block will be sharp). Should you use an alternative heavy lace yarns at 600m/100g you will require more than one skein.

The pattern is both fully written and charted with bead placement clearly indicated throughout.

You will find it useful to print your pattern on a colour printer, however, coloured pencils could be used to highlight aspects of the pattern and bead placement.
