Sheridan
Sheridan is a scarf or a shawl, depending on the amount of slant you give the “petals” that swirl off each other. Worked in simple garter stitch, it gracefully hugs your shoulders.
The first one I knit was in Malabrigo Silky Merino, but I have tried many different kinds; self-striping yarn like Noro or Mini Mochi are fabulous for showing this pattern off, as are complimentary stripes in different yarns. This is a very addictive pattern, and it’ll be all you can do to stop yourself trying it in every kind of yarn!
Needless to say, this is an any-gauge, any-weight pattern--It could be quite luxurious in a worsted weight for winter!
Also, for a thinner, flirtier scarf, feel free to use fingering-weight with the stitch-count specified for DK--it works and is quite pretty!
Note: Stitchnerd came up with an alternate beginning, in case the point at the beginning bothers you. Check out her notes on this project page.
