Needles and Notions
US size 7 (4.5 mm) for 1x1 ribbing; 16” and 24” circular needles, US size 7 (4.5 mm) needles to be used for working small circumferences in the round.
US size 8 (5.0 mm) for stockinette and charted pattern in the round; 16” and 24” circular needles, US size 8 (5.0 mm) needles to be used for working small circumferences in the round.
US size 9 (5.5 mm) needles for colorwork; 24” circular needles.
You may need to go up a needle size for the colorwork (charted pattern) section to maintain the given gauge. Checking, and achieving, gauge in both stockinette stitch and charted pattern is important to keep the sweater from puckering between the colorwork sections.
