Simmerdei is the Frisian word for summer day, and the colours in these socks are just that – an impression of a beautiful summer’s day in the Netherlands.

The information for turning the heel should read: Step 3: 1CH, 1DC in every stitch to marker. DC2tog on the side, before the marker. Remove marker, turn. Repeat step 3 three times. Step 4: 1CH, 1DC in every stitch to marker. DC2 on the side, before the marker. Remove marker, turn. Repeat step 4 until you are back to 24-28-32 sts for the bottom foot. The only two markers remaining are the ones that you already had in your work from the beginning.
