The name comes from how it feels in your hands when knit. Springy. Bouncy. Plush.
It’s a simple pattern, alternating purl ridges with Vikkel Braids and knit rounds in Super Bulky yarn. It feels so, well, bouncy, springy, like a pillow top mattress.

It is a quick knit, slowed a little bit by the braid rows, but worth the outcome (see the detail in the bottom left photo above). Instructions for conversion to Worsted Weight Yarn are included.

Super Bulky Weight Pattern

Materials:
100, 110, 116, 126 yards / 92, 101, 106, 115m Valley Yarns Superwash Super Bulky in desired color OR
half total yardage in two colors if a color blocked hat is desired.
US Size 11 / 8 mm circular needle (16 or 24 inch)
US Size 13 / 9 mm circular needle (16 or 24 inch) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Set of 4 DPNs in same size as above larger circular needles.

Gauge: 10.5 st x 18 rows = 4 in/10 cm on larger needles, slightly stretched in Sideways Pattern

Worsted Weight Pattern

Worsted version has an extra purl bump round to cut back on number of Vikkel Braids that must be worked.

note: Clasica is a thick/thin yarn which makes the design less “crisp” so another even thickness yarn can be substituted if desired as long as it meets gauge.
