Sizz is an oversized color blocked rectangular wrap, with an all-over chevron lace detail, knit using the two-color brioche stitch. If you recognize this stitch pattern, it is the same that I used in my Sizzle Pop shawl, Pop Fizzle hat, and Pop Twizzle cowl, all part of my POP! collection! I was so inspired by the stitch pattern again, and wanted to create a giant rectangular gradient wrap!
Grab 5 skeins of yarn in a speckled gradient for the giant brioche chevron wrap of your dreams!! I have written this wrap pattern as more of a formula. The exact instructions for my wrap sample have been written out, but they can be easily modified to fit your style and yarn amounts.
Skill level: Intermediate. Basic brioche skills are not required, but are recommended. Techniques used: knit, purl, brioche knit (brk), brioche purl (brp), brioche increases and decreases, rectangular shawl shaping.
If you have not yet tried knitting brioche, fear not!! This wrap may look complicated, but the twists and turns are made by increasing and decreasing the brioche stitches and are so much fun once you learn! This pattern is written so that ANYONE can knit it, with photo tutorials and links to videos teaching some of the techniques.
Construction Notes: Sizz is knit from side to side, as a giant wrap to keep you warm in all seasons. The stitch pattern is an 8-row repeat, but I have added color blocks and stripes to create an engaging and faded piece! Feel free to use this as more of a formula, and use as many or as few colors as you want! This pattern is also easy to modify by adding or omitting pattern repeats. If you want your shawl to be narrower, cast on fewer stitches. Wider, add more! I have detailed notes in the pattern about how to modify both length and width, as well as substituting yarns and number of color blocks!
This pattern is both written and charted, for your convenience!
