This cardigan is a rather roomy, plushy cocoon that will envelope you in the cold nights at home. It has been created with comfort in mind: a soft, very warm garment that is easy to wear around the house and decent enough to just pull on if you need to go out and pick the mail or go to the market. Not an elegant piece that you may want to wear at the office or when you go to a party, and yet not even something that you may prefer not to be seen in if the mailman rings (twice?) with your favorite yarn delivery.
The cardigan is knitted top down with raglan sleeves. All of the cardigan is knitted flat, including the sleeves (that will have to be seamed on the underside). This way you will be able to knit in the right gauge throughout the cardigan with no need to swatch twice; you may even use (long) single point needles instead of circulars.

Questo cardigan è un bozzolo spazioso e confortevole che vi avvolgerà nelle fredde serate a casa. L’idea di comfort ha guidato la sua creazione: un capo molto morbido e comodo da indossare a casa ma anche abbastanza piacevole da indossare al volo per scendere a prendere la posta o per fare la spesa. Non è un capo elegante da essere indossato in ufficio o per andare a una festa, ma non è nemmeno il genere di cosa in cui non vorreste farvi vedere dal postino quando vi citofona per farvi ritirare quel pacchetto di lana che avete ordinato.
Il cardigan si lavora top down con maniche raglan. È lavorato interamente in piano, comprese le maniche (che dovranno essere cucite nella parte inferiore). In questa maniera avrete modo di lavorare tutto il cardigan nella giusta tensione senza dover fare due campioni; potreste perfino usare i ferri dritti (quelli lunghi 60 cm però!) al posto del circolare.
