Snowstorm Shawl
I have had it in mind to design a fun gift knit collection and this year I finally made time to make that happen! So welcome to the Snowy Knits Collection! There are 5 patterns in total for this collection and all of them are 1-2 skein projects using DK - Bulky yarns making them quick to work up which is perfect for gift knitting for the upcoming holiday season!
This pattern is the Snowstorm Shawl knit out of 2 skeins of a Worsted Weight yarn with a different take on triangular shawl shaping as well as some satisfying drop stitch texture. Please note the sample size took all of the yarn from the two skeins. If you are worried about yardage you can also use two skeins of a heavy DK weight yarn.
PAY WHAT WORKS
I have created THREE coupon codes so you can either purchase the pattern for full price, or with 20%, 40% or 60% discounts. I wanted to provide this pattern with a range of pricing options as I know not everyone can afford patterns at full cost. If you would like to support my channel and the work I am doing, and you have the means to do so then paying for this pattern at one of the higher price points is a great way to do that.
THIS PATTERN IS ALSO AVAILABLE AS PART OF AN EBOOK WHICH AT FULL PRICE IS ALREADY 50% LESS THAN PURCHASING THE PATTERNS INDIVIDUALLY, THERE ARE ALSO CODES FOR THE EBOOK TO OFFER IT AT DIFFERENT PRICE POINTS
The listed price most accurately reflects the time and work that went into creating this pattern, however, if this is not financially accessible for you then please use one of the codes below.
20% off code - PWW20
40% off code - PWW40
60% off code - PWW60
What you will need:
• Yarn – 200gm Worsted Weight Yarn - Yarn used in sample is Uru Yarn by Knitcrate in the Wolves colourway on the Sugared Worsted base (70% Superwash Merino / 20% Nylon / 10% Stellina) 219ys/200m per 100gm
• Needles – 5mm (US 8) needles on a Long Cable to accommodate all the stitches.
• Notions – 3 Stitch Markers to mark increase points as well as 18 markers (different from your increase markers) for the patterning (If you do not have this many stitch markers you can also just use loops of scrap yarn as markers). I would also suggest a progress keeper for the first section to help keep track of the right side of your work.
• Gauge – Approx 16 sts / 4 inches in garter stitch after blocking (although gauge is really not too important with this shawl as long as you are liking the fabric you are getting).
Finished Size of Shawl – 168cm (66 inches) on the longest edge & 66cm (26 inches) at the deepest point.
