There are 2 chart options for each size, and you choose the colors--pick 2 light and 2 dark shades and mix and match to suit your favorite child.

If you are relatively new to colorwork, you may find this an easier pattern than it appears--there are never more than 2 colors in a round, and no long carries to deal with.

The sizes include baby through child, though more sizes could easily be worked by using yarn of different weights and/or gauges. The brim is relatively narrow, but if you prefer a deeper, fold-up brim, just add extra length before going on to the color chart. Allow for extra yarn if you plan to add length or work to a different gauge

The directions include a chart with all color patterns and decreases for shaping.

Either sport or DK weight will work in this pattern--just be sure to check your gauge. This is great pattern for using up small, leftover balls of yarn!

SIZES: Baby (Toddler, Child)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Circumference: 14 (16, 18) inches
Length: 8 (9, 10) inches
Fits heads measuring up to 16 (18, 20) inches in circumference
Changes to gauge or yarn weight, or adding length, may require extra yarn

GAUGE: 24 sts and 30 rnds = 4”/10cm on gauge size needles (over blocked colorwork pattern).

NEEDLES:
US 5 (3.75mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Choose needle types base on your preferred method of working (small circumferences) in the round. Options include magic-loop on a 32-inch circular needle, a combination of a 16-inch circular needle and DPNs, or 2 24-inch circular needles.

YARN: DK or Sport Weight Yarn
Amounts needed for EACH of 4 colors (2 Darks and 2 Lights): 30 (40, 50) yards.
