Spellbound, part of the Things Unknown - Dream Collection, a collection of four patterns, three individual and an exclusive pattern - not available to purchase alone. This collection is part of the Dream Collection Trio - Three Collections all inspired by Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Inspired by Shakespeare’s Titania, Queen of the Faeries, Mistress of Mystery and Possessor of Beauty. Oh how I would love to be Titania!
Spellbound captures the essence of this Faery Queen and her woodland world. The main body of the shawl is full of leafy crowns that lead they eye down to the sumptuous and decadent beaded border with dramatic points. Choose your colours and beads and you too can become totally spellbound! The shawl has been designed to be knit using Sweet Georgia Merino Silk Lace, Hedgehog Fibres Silk/Merino Lace or Skein Merino/Silk Lace, all 700m/100g for the lace version and I used Propanicus Moon Lumen Lace for the stocking stitch version. Both versions are heavily beaded so you can decide just how magical you want to look.
I used 560m of Sweet Georgia Yarns Silk Merino Lace and approx 775 beads, the stocking stitch version uses an additional 80 beads. The size as written (measured on the lace version and will depend on your blocking technique) – 22 inches (56 cm) deep and 83 inches (211 cm) wide but this pattern is easily adaptable though it is important to remember that both your yardage and bead requirements will increase should you increase the main body section.
The pattern is both written and fully charted with bead placement indicated throughout.
If you like my designs please join us in the Boo Group where you will find a place to discuss my patterns, show off your knitting and hear about KALs and MKALs.
Patterns already set up by KnitCompanion can be purchased, in the KnitCompanion Store, for knitters who like to use KnitCompanion, but prefer to have their charts already set up.
