Skill level: Intermediate (stranding, following a graph)

Traditional tweed and predictable stripes? Not when a jolt of color from one “spoiler” appearance is added. What color will you use to keep your audience watching to the last episode? It should be a shocker!

A tweed stitch pattern creates the base for the multi-color stripes. A full graph showing where to add/change colors and how to carry yarns makes this a great project for learning how to do simple crochet colorwork.

Twist Alert: Your working yarns will twist, once for every stitch. The easiest solution is to put the yarn in bowls on a “Lazy Susan” turntable and spin out the twist at the middle and end of each row. An extra step, but well worth it for the resulting pattern and texture.
