Sprinkles on Top began as vacation knitting for a bunch of end of summer trips I had planned. However, I cast it on and then I could not put it down so it didn’t last through all of my trips. I finished it on the beach while visiting my sister. I got creative to block it and used a trash bag on her carpet and quilting pins.

The shawl is an asymmetrical triangle featuring slipped stitches to create little bubbles in contrasting color bands and is topped off with a picot bind-off. This is the perfect pattern to use that irresistible single skein of speckled yarn you couldn’t resist! Pair it with 2 coordinating colors and start knitting this incredibly addictive shawl.

Yarn
Silky Singleton by Duck Duck Wool (70% SW
merino / 30% silk, 438 yards (400 m), 100 g)
1 skein each
Color A: Sundae Fundae (speckle) - 438 yards (400 m)
Note: Almost all of color A is used. If gauge differs significantly or the skein is less than 438 yards, you may run out of yarn.
Color B: December District (teal) - 220 yards (200 m)
Color C: Pinky Up (pink) - 255 yards (235 m)

Needles
US 4 (3.5 mm) 32” (80 cm) or longer circular
needles or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions
Yarn needle
Optional stitch marker to mark RS of work

Skills needed
Cast on, increases, decreases, bind off

If you are running out of color A yarn or have a more left and want to use it up, the last section can be worked with more or less rows. Just end with an even number of stitches.

This pattern was test knit by several test knitters. Thank you!

The shawl is modeled by my sister, Hallie Lipa.
