About Square…
This design - a thin, woolen blouse - partly got its name because of the slightly square shape, and partly because of the characteristic pattern, where one square replaces the next. An easy knit/purl stitch pattern.
Square is worked bottom up, starting with hem-edges in a special ribbed pattern. The body is worked in the round with increases/cast on for integrated sleeves. The upper part of the back and front piece with sleeves, are worked back and forth where the shoulders are shaped with short rows, and knitted together with a visible and decorative seam.
Finally edging - ribbing in the sleeves and a neckband, which is a characteristic I-cord with purl stitches.
