Use the yarns/colors as you wish. Be as creative as you wish repeat a color/yarn when you feel like it instead of using all 6 colors/yarns first.
Fun idea put all the yarns in an opaque bag and just pull one out and start knitting as it randomly comes out of the bag.

Short rows are used to add subtle waves to the stripes of this triangle, worked from the tip up to the widest edge.
