Summer Girl - fingering cotton
Summer Girl is a spaghetti strap sundress or summery top made with lightweight cotton fabric, a perfect choice for any hot summer days.
The top section is meant to be fitted enough so not to be revealing while running, playing, jumping or dancing, while the skirt has lots of positive ease to be comfortable and airy at the same time. The dress is finished with a ruffle.
Add that perfect touch with flowers of your choice - knitted or crocheted. Detailed instructions are provided for several options.
Pattern includes:
- photo tutorial on how to crochet small daisy flowers - a fun way to start crocheting if you haven’t tried it yet!
- the crochet part is written in US terms, however there are informations how to convert crochet to UK terms included in the pattern
- underarm instructions are written with reinforced corners and without jogs at the beginning of the round
Compare to its sister version Summer Girl - fingering silk/merino blend, the main differences are in:
- material used
- main needle ( 3 mm vs. 2.75mm)
- row gauge (34 vs. 36 rows)
- positive ease (more ease for silky version)

US 1 (2.25mm) flat or circular needles (16” or 24”)
US 2 (2.75mm) 16” and/or 24” circular needles, or size required to obtain gauge.
Note: If you are using a 100% merino yarn, one size bigger needles may be required.
