Summer Solstice Mini Mandala Motifs
It was so hot in Memphis today! The heat, the sun, and the beautiful pink, purple, yellow sunset inspired me to design a little mandala motif dedicated to this hot hot hot summer.
I ordered some Scheepjes Stone Washed a few months ago. They are soft, and have a “stone-washed” look to them, summery, and seemed perfect for this project. These mandalas can be worked together to create a pillow, or headband, or even a blanket if you’re feeling brave! I’m working on a joining border and headband, so keep an eye out.

This pattern is worked in the round, using the chain stitch (ch), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), spike stitch (sp st), front post double crochet 3 together (fpdc3tog), and knowledge of working in both loops (BL), front (FL) and back loops only (BLO). It also requires knowledge of increasing (crocheting two sts in the same st is one increase). You also need to know how to do a magic circle.
