Materials: 194 (212, 229) yds of fingering yarn
Sample shown in TricôTricô Fingering yarn (hand painted 100% merino wool single ply – 100gr = 440 yds) – color 03 Chá Verde - size Adult Small
Gauge: 20 sts and 16 rows = 2.25” X 1.75” on the Rib st pattern worked circular (2 repetitions of chart rounds 1 to 16)
Sizes:
Children & Adult Small: 19” / 20” head circumference
Adult Medium: 21” / 22” head circumference
Adult Large: 23” head circumference
Needles:
US2 / 3mm (or size to obtain gauge) 16” circular needles or longer for magic loop method
*** If you tend to be a tight knitter, I would recommend one size bigger needles for casting-on and work the first round.
One set of US2 / 3mm DPNs (or size to obtain gauge)
Cable needle suitable for the needle size
Tools / Notions:
11 (12, 13) stitch markers (stitch markers are optional. They can be helpful when placed between chart repetitions)
*** I would recommend the stitch marker placed at the beginning of the work looks different from the others. This st marker indicates the beginning of a new round.
Darning needle
Notes:
Tashi is worked circular and from the bottom-up. The rib with cables stitch creates a snug fit and negative ease.
If you like the beanie more slouchy, repeat chart rounds 27 to 46 three or four times.
