Ten Mile Bay
Labradorite with its mesmerizing iridescence and interplay of color, and its character enhanced by the veins that run through it. Ten Mile Bay in Labrador is home to a labradorite quarry and inspired this sweater.
Ten Mile Bay is a top down compound raglan, evoking the feel of Joe Batt’s Arm. This Ten Mile Bay raglan is worked top down and in the round, and the colorwork is ordinary stranded knitting using 2 colours. A little bit of Front neck shaping is done at the very start with the stranded colorwork worked flat for 6 rows, then you join at the Front neck and the remaining sweater is worked in the round. Compound raglan increases are made through the yoke to the underarm. Sleeve and Body stitches are divided, sleeve stitches are placed on hold, and the Lower Body is worked in the round down to the hem. Stitches around the neck are picked up and the neckband is worked in the round. Lastly, sleeves are worked down to the cuffs. The neckband, cuffs, and hem feature a 2 colour stranded garter stitch, cohesively enhancing the aesthetic of Ten Mile Bay.
Pick your favorite variegated yarn and a
