Tesselation Beanie
Starting from the bottom and working up this fun Entrelac beanie uses single crochet, chain, slip stitch and split single crochet. Although the beanie is worked in the round, each triangle and block are worked in rows. The tapestry crochet band is added at the end.
You need two colors of worsted weight yarn.
Finished measurements - 20½“ (22¼ “, 24”)
GAUGE - Base of triangles measures 1¾”, Blocks are 1¼“ square.
Tapestry crochet is a way of working with 2 colors in one row that does not have any strands showing on the back of the work. You place the color not in use along the top of your work so that the color you are using completely covers the contrast color. You need to keep the stitches loose. This particular type of tapestry crochet is done using a split single crochet (SSC). Work SSC through the V of the SC rather then through the chain along the top of the SC. The rest of the stitch is worked just like a regular SC, you just change where you enter the st.
