1. I’d like to apologize to everyone who has purchased this pattern because I just realized there was a mistake in the hook size, which I have now corrected. Instead of hooks 3 mm, as stated in the pattern, the correct hook size is 1.7 mm (I’m not sure for the US marking; in one source I found that this a a steel hook 5, and another source suggested label 7 for the metric 1.65 mm). The mistake was a result of the label 3 on my hook (probably referring to the UK sizing), and the 1.7 mm label was almost completely erased. However, I managed to read it now with the help of my mobile phone camera. Previously, I assumed that label 3 meant 3 mm. Once again, my sincere apologies to all customers.

Some time ago I fell madly in love with a dress similar to “The Crown Stitch Dress” in a magazine. The instructions were too basic and short, but decided to give it a try. I ended up making the dress my way with most changes in the bust area. I got many likes, questions and requests for the pattern here on Ravelry after publishing this project, so I decided to write the instructions. Being completely inexperienced with writing patterns, I created just a bit more detailed tutorial than the one in the magazine, and realized that it needed serious improvement. In the mean time, I read lots of other crochet tutorials, and became aware of how a well composed tutorial is supposed to look like. Therefore, the updated, enhanced version of the pattern is written with detailed directions, supported by more photos of better quality, which present the dress from different angles. This is my second designer pattern, so, I would appreciate comments and suggestions.

The pattern for this dress contains written directions, a diagram, and supporting photos and drawings. The dress is crocheted in the rounds, so there are no side seams. The cups are also crocheted directly onto the body of the garment, so no additional sewing is required.

The Crown Stitch Dress has black jersey lining as the pattern is transparent.
