The Delano Shawl
The Delano Shawl features a lattice work body that is edged in two rows of Puff Stitches followed by an outer ruffle. If you prefer, 3-dc Clusters can be substituted for the Puff Sts. The ruffle consists of rows of chain spaces, interspersed with increases to add fullness.
This shawl is worked from the top edge to the bottom point, so each row becomes progressively shorter (and it’s only a 2-row repeat!). The edging and ruffle are added to the two short edges of the triangle to complete the design.
Instructions for the Body and Edging are written and charted. Ruffle instructions are written only.
Finally, welcome to Delano, the historic district of Wichita, Kansas on the banks of the Arkansas River - a place where cowboys once cooled their heels while running cattle northward from Texas. Today, Delano is home to many eclectic shops and restaurants including Twist, the best yarn shop around! Delano is still a great place to cool your heels.
