The Perfect Weekend Sweater
Here is the go-to sweater for hanging around the house! This sweater is a top down raglan, offered in 4 sizes.
Sizes: 37-39, (40-44, 44-48, 50-54) Finished measurements depend on blocking. This sweater has negative ease before blocking.
Needles: One each 36-inch (90cm) and 16-inch (40cm) US #6 (4mm) circular needle, one set US #6 (4mm) double-pointed needles; one 36-inch (90cm) or longer US #4 (3.5mm) circular needle, and one set US #4 (3.5mm) double-pointed needles.
Gauge: 5 sts/inch (2.5cm) measured over unstretched garter stitch on US #4 (3.5mm) needles with yarn held double and 7 sts /inch (2.5cm) measured over unstretched Mistake Stitch Rib on US #6 (4mm) needles with yarn held double. Since ribbing is notoriously difficult to measure for gauge, we strongly recommend that you make a large gauge swatch.
Yarn: Meadowlake Arts Polwarth Fingering, 100% Superwash Polwarth wool, 437 yds to 3.5 oz (400m to 100g) OR any comparable fingering-weight yarn (this pattern is a good stash-buster!), 3,059 (3,496, 3,933, 4,807) yds. Sample sweater was knit with one variegated/tonal yarn and one solid yarn held together for the body and sleeves, and two strands of solid yarn held together for cuffs and bands. (If you choose to knit with just one yarn, DK or a light worsted will give you the best comparison results in gauge. Cut the yardage approximately in half for DK or light worsted.)
