Can you imagine seeing a rose growing from a crack in the concrete? A rose growing from a crack in the concrete has to overcome immediate adversity. Breaking through concrete would surely leave behind damaged petals. It is likely that many people will see the rose growing from the concrete and doubt its potential to succeed. Others will not see the rose at all. Just consider the potential such a rose would have if it is seen, nurtured, and loved.

This design is inspired by the poem written by Tupac Shakur and is intended to celebrate the people (a.k.a. roses) that have grown from a crack in the concrete and continue to defy the odds each day as they struggle to bloom and grow. Our world is a better place because they exist. Let’s support each other, take care of each other, and (more importantly) love each other!

The Rose That Grew From Concrete is knit flat on the bias from the right cast-on to the left bind-off edge to create an easy-to-wear and modern off-center triangle shape.
