A KNITTABLE WRAP. A WEARABLE HUG.

This may look like a wrap but, really, it’s a big wooly hug…well, at least it feels that way! From a knitting perspective, the Weston Tweed wrap is a pretty impressive piece that only requires basic knitting skills--surprise! The tweed pattern is based on knit stitches--the only purling required is in the ribbed bands! A truly meditative knit that, stitch by stitch, turns into a cozy masterpiece you’ll reach for again and again.

Finished Measurements
19.5” (50 cm) width x 72” (183 cm) length.

Yarn
The Fibre Co. Lore (100% Romney Wool; 273 yards 250 meters / 100 grams): (C1) 2 skeins in Mystery. (C2) 2 skeins in Logical. (C3) 3 skeins in Reliable.

Needles
Size US 6 (4 mm): 32” (80 cm) circular needle for Ribbing.
Size US 8 (5 mm): 32” (80 cm) circular needle for Tweed Pattern.

Gauge
30 stitches / 28 rows = 4” (10 cm) in 1 x 1 Ribbing, using smaller needle.
22 stitches / 48 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Tweed Pattern, using larger needle.

Gauge is not essential for this project. Just be aware that differences in gauge can affect both the finished dimensions and total yardage required. I used almost the full 7 skeins of Lore at the stated gauge.

Notes
This pattern contains two methods for creating matching cast-on and bind-off edges.
The long-tail cast-on + knit-wise bind-off: recommended for new knitters--quick and easy to execute.
The tubular cast-on + tubular / kitchener stitch bind-off: recommended for experienced knitters--produces a more professional result.
