Welcome to The Winding Path crochet-along! This is a lush, thick blanket that aims to guide you from simple to more complicated cable patterns as you progress through each section. Follow the pattern carefully as we make our way along the winding path towards a blanket that will keep you warm all winter and fill you with pride and joy.

The blanket measures 55.5 inches x 69.5 inches (or 133 cm x 177 cm) when crocheted at gauge with the specified yarn and hook, which is big enough to drape over the edges of a single bed, sit atop a double bed, or make a big, snuggly throw for your sofa.

The pattern consists of written instructions with plenty of pictures, and you will also find charts for each motif at the end of each pattern document.

The CAL begins with Part 01 on 27th January 2025, and further parts will be released fortnightly - 10th Feb, 24th Feb, 10th March, 24th March, 7th April, 21st April, 5th May and 19th May. But there’s no rush and no deadline, so join in whenever you’d like.

There are three official colourways for this blanket – two in Stylecraft Highland Heathers, and one in Stylecraft Special DK. The colours and quantities you need are as below:

Colourway 01 - Moorland Meander - Highland Heathers: Lichen (5 balls), Marmalade (3 balls), Brose (3 balls), Campbell (3 balls), Thistle (3 balls) and Hawthorn (3 balls). 4.5mm hook.

Colourway 02 - Highland Hike - Highland Heathers: Grist (5 balls), Shale (3 balls), Cairn (3 balls), Heather (3 balls), Thrift (3 balls) and Thistle (3 balls). 4.5mm hook.

Colourway 03 - Woodland Wander - Special DK: Gingerbread (5 balls), Bottle (3 balls), Stone (3 balls), Claret (3 balls), Camel (3 balls) and Graphite (3 balls). 4mm hook.
