Darling faux cables and twisted rib stitches intermingle here to remind us of vines growing up trellises – particularly in this shade dyed by Gregoria Fibres using logwood. Roses of this colour can still be seen on a mild, rainy, autumn days in London, in front gardens and royal parks alike, before they fade away to make space for winter.
Knit seamlessly beginning with the collar and working down, Thessaly is as deceptively simple to knit as it is beautiful to admire.

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

Finished bust measurement: 76 (86.5, 96.5, 106.5, 117, 127) cm / 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50)” – to be worn with up to 5 cm / 2” of positive ease.
Model has 84 cm / 33” bust, stands 1.75 m / 5’9” tall, and is wearing size 2.

Yarn: Gregoria Fibers Merino DK (DK/light worsted weight; 100% Merino wool; 200 m / 219 yds per 100 g skein) Shade: Logwood; 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5) skeins

Gauge: 18 sts & 23 rows = 10 cm / 4” over reverse stocking stitch on 4.5 mm needles after blocking

Needles: 4 mm / US 6 AND 4.5 mm / US 7 circular needle, 100 cm (40”) length
4 mm / US 6 AND 4.5 mm / US 7 DPNs for sleeves Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions: : Smooth scrap yarn in similar weight for provisional cast-on, stitch holders or scrap yarn, 5 stitch markers – 1 in a different colour for beginning of round

Notes: Cardigan is knit seamlessly beginning with the collar panels before picking up stitches and working downwards. Raglan shaping incorporates a faux cable and twisted rib pattern that runs the length of each front panel. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round.
For WS rows with the instruction to ‘knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts as they face you’, if the stitch in the row below is twisted (ie. has been worked through the back loop) then it should also be worked through the back loop on the WS row.
