Thursday's Wrap
This light-as-air rectangle of stockinette will become the most versatile piece in your handknit wardrobe. There is something about knitting that, when paired with a fabulous yarn and some subtle detailing, turns the simplest of knitting into the most fabulous of wearable pieces.
Begin with a basic rib border, edged on both sides by an
i-cord selvage that is knit as you go. The tiniest of simple buttonholes are hidden along the i-cord edge allowing for your finished wrap to be worn in many different ways.
As a poncho or shrug the finished measurement comfortably fits a shoulder circumference up to 45” around. A very petite person may be able to get away with working the piece out of only 800 yards by shortening the distance knit without buttonholes between the ends.
For a larger size simply work the piece longer between buttonhole ends. With 1500 to 1600 yards you would have plenty of yarn for this.
