A design made for a princess and a yarn that’s fit for a queen- what more could a woman want? This tam/beret design incorporates simple cables and eyelets to mimic a tiara around the brim and 8 diamonds around the crown and is worked in a luxurious yarn that is suitable for any occasion or season.

Sizes available:
Both sizes start the same to fit a woman’s head (it’s very stretchy), but the large size makes the crown of the beret 2” bigger than the small size. Pattern photos show the small size. I would say that the large is a more traditional sized beret. It is very easy to make this hat larger by adding more increases before decreasing the crown.

Choosing Yarn:
Choose a yarn that with drape that will lay flat after blocking, something with a silk, bamboo, tencel content would be very nice. Something springy and bouncy like merino would not be the best choice.
