Tiffany Epiphany
There is something enchanting and enduring about Art Nouveau. The vibrant and confident colors, the soft shapes and curved lines, the natural forms and structures, so beautifully captured by designers like Tiffany. This shawl celebrates this wonderful period of design, and while its inspiration may be found in the past, its timeless elegance and style will help you look great in the here and now!
Tiffanny Epiphany comes in two sizes – medium and large – which makes it suitable for yarns from light fingering weight to sport weight. It is a reversible modular knit but there is no seaming or weaving in of threads involved, simply join the modules as you go!
As for your color choices, you can really let your imagination go wild! Tiffany Epiphany works with almost any yarn: solids, semi solids, tip dyed yarns, color gradients, and works especially well with very long color gradients. There are many different indie dyers offering long color gradients at the moment, but if you need some help I’ve added a list below.
Whichever color combination you choose for the modules, it is important to be able to tell them apart. This pattern includes a stencil that you can color in, so you can have fun playing around with all the different colors before deciding what looks best!
If you knit with fingering yarn you will need roughly 1100 – 1300 yards. In the pattern pictures you will find one model knitted with two different long color gradients by Wollbonbon and another knitted with two different Zauberball colors by Schoppel.
All instructions are written and charted, enriched with ample photo tutorials on the techniques of shaping and joining the modules. This makes Tiffany Epiphany a feasible project for most knitters.
Happy knitting,
Ursa Major
