Toscaig
This pattern is part of To the Shore - a collection of 5 patterns – 1 garments, 4 accessories – inspired by my love of the coast of Britain, celebrating some of my favourite british yarns.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seaside rocks are like works of art, weathered into lacelike patterns and delicately shaded with lichen and seaweed. Toscaig captures the overlapping crescents I found on one such rock, with varying hole sizes, stripes and texture adding to the richness of the lace.
Blacker Samite’s silk lends an intense gleam and luxurious drape to this crescent shawl, stretching out as wide as the horizon. Well… almost.
The pattern requires light fingering weight or heavy lace weight yarn. It is recommended to chose a soft, warm yarn with a high natural fibre content, which will block well.
