TRIPLED VERSATILITY
Throw it around your neck once, twice, or three times. Pass the tip through the shawl from the front, from the back or from the side. The possibilites of this shawl are almost endless! Combined with the leaf design, Triplett is a fun and colourful project that gives you a really useful and pretty shawl!
Triplett is worked from one long edge of the shawl. Then the shape and the leaves are achieved with short-rows that grow longer and longer until you knit a full row in the middle of the shawl. Then the rows get shorter and shorter again towards the end. Between the leaves you will make giant button holes by binding off on one row and then casting on new stitches when you get back to the same place again. The entire shawl is knit in garter stitch, which makes it a simple project that anyone can execute as long as you know how to make knit stitches, turns, slip stitches and how to cast on and bind off.
This shawl is perfect for your handspun yarn in various colours, combined with a plain white or solid colour yarn. Or perhaps a bunch of mini skeins as the contrast colour?
Triplett is written for a locally produced Swedish yarn from the local mini-mill Östergötlands ullspinneri. The yarns Visjö and Karamell are spun with wool from finewool sheep, a native heritage breed that has a very soft and crimpy wool resulting in a fabric that can be worn next to the skin. The colourway Karamell is a gorgeous gradient yarn that goes through the colours about three times per skein. It can be ordered from https://www.ullspinneriet.se/.
