Tunisian Sunset
Drift away dreaming of Tunisian sunsets under this beautiful blanket.
Made in long strips of Tunisian crochet, that are joined-as-you go, this is a deceptively easy make that requires no sewing together, and uses only the simple stitch and an easy 2-colour blending technique that will bring your work to life.
Once all your strips have been completed you’ll then finish off your stunning creation with a regular crochet border in Linen stitch.
Each square is worked individually and you will only be working a few stitches and rows at a time making this a great project to pick up in your spare moments to quickly finish off a square here and there. Before you know it you will have a beautiful finished blanket to snuggle under.
Finished size: Sample measures 95 x 120 cm using fingering weight (4ply) yarn however you may use any yarn weight resulting in a slightly larger blanket
What you’ll find inside:
• 9 pages of clear written instructions and detailed colour layout chart
• Complete materials list including all colours used in sample as well as a substitute yarn guide
• Instructions for the special techniques used, including helpful photos for the tricky bits
Materials required:
Yarn - Any weight yarn in 13 colours. Sample made with Knitpicks Palette - full colour list is included in pattern as well as substitute colour list for Stylecraft Special DK
Hook - * 5mm if using fingering weight / 6.5 mm if using DK weight
As you will only ever have a few stitches on your hook there is no need to use a special Tunisian hook, in fact you will find it more comfortable working with a regular crochet hook (without a handle) for this pattern.
Skill Level: Confident beginner – if you feel comfortable with Tunisian Simple stitch then you will find this pattern easy.
Terms used: Instructions written in both US and UK/Aus terms for the regular crochet component.
