Turkey and Penguin are realistic-ish bird motifs that you can attach to clothing, accessories, and more.

The instructions are written and illustrated with several in-progress photos.

They can be worked in any yarn, as long as all the colors are the same weight/brand of yarn.

To give you an idea of size, if you work the Turkey in sport weight yarn and a size F-5/3.75mm hook, the finished measurement will be about 3 1/2”/8.9cm x 4 3/8”/11.1cm.

The Penguin, worked in sport weight yarn on a size E-4/3.5mm hook will be about 2 3/4”/7cm x 3 5/8”/9.2cm, when finished.

Worsted weight will give you bigger birds, No. 10 crochet cotton will give you smaller and incredibly cute birds.

You won’t need much yarn to make these little motifs. They’re great for using up scraps.
