Twist and Curl Kid's Vest
This Vest was designed for my 1 year old twin boys. Now they are 21 month and still can wear it. Little kids are growing so fast. We don’t want to take so much time to make something for them and only last short amount of the time. So that something easy, something quick to make and last longer is the motivation for me to design this vest.
The stitch patterns that I used in this design are super stretchy. That makes the range of the size wider.
Piece measured 191/2” without stretching out, and measured 211/2” stretching out and blocked .
This vest is worked from the bottom of the back up to the front, then work from the shoulder of the front top town to the bottom in one piece. No picked up stitches.
Always slip the 1st st at the beginning of every row.
When the last st of the last row is knit, slip st purl-wise with yarn in front (p-wise, wyif). When the last st of the last row is purl, slip st knit wise with yarn in back (k-wise, wyib).
Yarn Louet, Gems (100% merino wool; 175yd 160 m/ 3.5 oz 100 g): color Cobalt blue and Fern green ; 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) skeins.
Gauge 26 sts and 32 rows is 4” with larger needle in texture rib patt, blocked. 30 sts and 26 rows is 4” with larger needle in cable st, blocked.
