This pattern is worked using the double knitting technique and is a great pattern for learning the double knitting technique. Instructions for working the double knitting technique are included. Two different color yarns are used. The yarns can be contrasting or complementary. A solid color and variegated yarn or two tonal yarns work well. The model uses an Aran weight yarn, but this can also be knit in a worsted weight yarn. Approximately 200 yards of each collar are required. The hat is reversible with both sides showing as knitted. A Size 8 (5.0 mm) - 16” circular needle is used.
The hat fits most adults as the finished product is stretchy.
