Unduléi
Zigzagging lines and gentle curves merge. A play of light and shadow, matter and void. The changing perspectives create captivating patterns where mind and body wander.
The architecture of stairs exerts a strange fascination on me. This is where reality and abstraction meet, offering mesmerizing photographs in which our three-dimensional world of glass, metal and stone transforms into two-dimensional abstract geometry.
The Unduléi cowl is inspired by the fascinating architectural elements of winding stairs. One such staircase is found in MUDAM, a museum in the city of Luxembourg. The cowl combines knitted lace and textured columns to create reversible winding patterns with negative space. Come play with curves, lines and eyelets, and wrap yourself in style with Unduléi!
The cowl is freely named after “unduléieren”, which is Luxembourgish for “to undulate”
For best effect, use a round yarn with good stitch definition. Yarn weights ranging from Fingering to Worsted would be suitable. As for colorways, I would recommend solid, semi-solid, or gradient (single skein or gradient set) yarns.
