Variations Worsted (with Buttons)
This is my first piece in my play on “Variations”. I found a stitch pattern that I have fallen in love with and love the way that it dances across Variegated or Speckled yarns. This is Movement 1, a Shawlette/Cowl that uses a button to hold it in place. This piece uses 1 hank of The Fiber Seed Sprout Worsted and is a fast knit. Purchasing this piece will get you a coupon code once the next piece is ready, to use on the next piece in the collection, a Triangular Shawl.
Variations: Act 1: Movement 1
This piece makes the most of a beautiful Speckled Worsted skein! The stitches breeze across the speckled, creating their own spectacular movement, with a sturdy cable to hold them in place. The shaping on this lends to a unique piece that can be worn in the front as a cowl, or in the back, making it more a shawlette, or capelet if you will. The toggle closures help it stay in place, and allow you to adjust how close you want it to fit your neck. In a pinch, wearing it in the front makes a stylish and functional nursing shawl.
This piece is a great opportunity to practice cabling without a cable needle (but you can certainly use a cable needle if you choose!).
