Vice Versa Socks
Never have to mind again if socks are worn the ‘right’ way?
A reversible sockpattern!
The pattern works best with a (hand dyed) yarn with a little bit of contrast in colors like a muted-multi. The sock is knitted from the toe-up. The pattern of the cuff is workout as a chart as well as written down.
Techniques used:
knitting with double-pointed needles or knitting in the round with a circular needle, shaping using increases and decreases, short rows, working wrap stitches, Judy’s Magic Cast On and Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off.
Sizes:
- Small: 64 stitches, shoe size EU 42-43, length 27,5 cm, width: 20 cm
- Medium: 68 stitches, shoe size EU 44-45, length 28,5 cm, width: 21,25 cm
- Large: 72 stitches, shoe size EU 46-47, length 30 cm, width 22,5 cm
The story:
This pair of socks is especially designed for my dear husband. He has hypersensitive feet. Over the years, I have been thinking what kind of socks would be most comfortable for him to wear. Suddenly I got it! Me, I love to wear my hand knit cotton socks inside out, as the purl bumps on the outside feels
more comfortable when they are on the outside …
A nice side effect of this pattern: the socks are reversible. As most men - I know a generalisation - he doesn’t care if his socks are worn the ‘right way’. I, I want the socks to look good on both sides :-)
